Amanda Bynes arrested, taken for a psychiatric evaluation

amanda-bynes-arrested-psychiatric-evaluation.jpgThe downward spiral of Amanda Bynes may have finally ended up in jail. NBC4 New York is reporting that Bynes was arrested Thursday night (May 23).

Reportedly, police were sent to Bynes' apartment in Midtown Manhattan, responding to a call about of a disorderly person. Law enforcement sources tell NBC4 that officers arrived at the scene and witnessed Bynes throwing a bong out of the window of her apartment. She was taken into custody on a charge of reckless endangerment.

UPDATE: TMZ is reporting that Bynes was quite agitated during the arrest, kicking and screaming and yelling, "Don't you know who I am?"

The site also reports that Bynes was charged not only with reckless endangerment, but also criminal possession of marijuana and felony tampering with evidence.

Bynes was taken to Roosevelt Hospital for a psychiatric evaluation, before being moved to a Midtown police station.

The 27-year-old actress is already serving three years probation for driving with a suspended license and is still facing a DUI charge stemming from an April 2012 incident.

Most recently, Bynes took issue with an article and some photos run by In Touch that are supposedly of the actress in her apartment, lounging on a bed and possibly smoking marijuana. Bynes insists the photos were altered.
