When Amanda Bynes' mother goes to court Friday (August 9), in a bid to be named her temporary conservator, she's asked that the hearing be closed to the media and the public, Radar Online reports.

The motion was reportedly filed Friday (August 2) by Lynn Bynes' lawyer. A source says much of the hearing's testimony will contain sensitive medical information about Amanda, which Lynn doesn't think needs to be made public. The source notes it's even a possibility the former child star may take the stand herself, adding, "The last thing Amanda needs is the media dissecting her every movement and what she could potentially say."

It was reported August 1 that Bynes attempt to be released from a two-week psychiatric hold was denied by a judge. She was first admitted to the hospital after being taken into custody for starting a fire on the driveway of a California home on July 22.
