'American Horror Story': Jessica Lange will be the focus for Season 2

jessica-lange-american-horror-story.jpgA new nugget of information regarding "American Horror Story's" second season has been divulged by creator Ryan Murphy to EW - and it relates to everyone's favorite crazy neighbor (and Golden Globe winner for the role) Jessica Lange, who played Constance Langdon in Season 1.

We already knew Lange was coming back, and that the season will feature entirely new characters, this time set against the backdrop of a 'horror institution' on the East Coast. But Lange will now be the central character.

"We have designed the second season of 'American Horror Story' completely around her character," says Murphy. "Last year Jessica came in with Connie Britton and Dylan McDermott. This will really be the Jessica Lange show so I'm very excited about it."

"We are designing this amazing new opposite of the Constance character for her. She and I have spoken about different things. She has a lot of ideas, and has a lot of input into her character," Murphy continues. "She told me some things she has always wanted to play as an actress. She's a great collaborator and a great friend."

We can't wait to see what it is - Lange was certainly a highlight of the first season. Though we are a little nervous that perhaps the reason she was so great is because she wasn't over-used. Guess we'll have to see. But don't hold your breath for any of the actors who played the Harmons returning - Murphy has already said they won't be back.

"American Horror Story" should return to FX in mid-October.
