'American Idol' alums Diana DeGarmo, Ace Young join 'Hair' cast

diana-degarmo-ace-young-hair.jpgTwo former "American Idol" finalists are headed back to Broadway -- Diana DeGarmo and Ace Young.

DeGarmo and Young have been cast as Sheila and Berger respectively, and have already begun rehearsals for the Broadway revival of "Hair," which is slated to open March 9, according to Playbill.

This isn't a first appearance for either singer on the Great White Way. DeGarmo first appeared on Broadway in "Hairspray" and Young debuted in "Grease" as Kenickie. As recently as December, Young was cast in the national touring company of "Grease" as lead Danny Zuko, but we guess he ditched out on the tour in order to come back to New York for "Hair."

We're sad the "Carrie: The Musical" thing never took off for Diana DeGarmo -- we were pretty excited to see how that storyline would unfold in musical format, particularly with Diana as the lead tormentor of weird telekinetic Carrie.

Watch Ace and Diana rehearse with the new tribe of "Hair" stars on "Let the Sunshine In."
