'American Idol': Crystal Bowersox weighs in on Ellen's exit

As the "American Idol" Season 9 runner-up, Crystal Bowersox took more feedback from Ellen DeGeneres than most other contestants -- and she's OK with the former judge's decision to call it quits after just one season.

Bowersox, currently on tour with the rest of the top 10, offers her take on the current "Idol" situation: "Ellen is an amazing and kind human being, and I respect her and her decision to leave 'American Idol'," she tells MTV News. "She brought a smile to the show and so much more, and I am very happy to have been a part of her time there. I wish nothing but the best for her, and also to 'American Idol'."

So diplomatic! She didn't say what she thought of Ellen's rumored replacements -- or of the possible departure of Kara DioGuardi as well -- but we do know that she's fond of Harry Connick Jr.

And he's still stuck on the speculation back burner for now, though not out of the running completely. If the reported Season 10 panel of Randy Jackson, Jennifer Lopez and Steven Tyler doesn't end up securing the unsigned Tyler, Harry's supposedly next in line for his spot.
