'American Idol': Jessica Sanchez's phenomenal 'My All' followed up by so-so song choices
For the "American Idol" Top 3, Jessica Sanchez was handed "My All" by Mariah Carey and "I'll Be There" by the Jackson 5, then she personally chose "Don't Wanna Miss a Thing" by Aeromsith. We fear some bad song choices may have just left Jessica out of the finals.
"My All" was phenomenal. It is one of the hardest songs we've ever seen done on this show - the degree of difficulty is off the charts. And Jessica really showed off her talent on it. Unfortunately, it was her first song and she followed it up with two so-so choices.
The Aerosmith song was just OK and the Jackson 5 choice by Iovine was downright silly. She needed an "I Will Always Love You" moment and the repetitive, relatively easy "I'll Be There" was not going to get the job done.
The judges praised her, because that's what they do, but they were never leaping out of their chairs and that's a problem - the voters aren't going to be leaping to their phones either.
What do you think, "Idol" fans? Is Jessica toast?
