'American Idol' judge Simon Cowell wants to bring 'X Factor' to Las Vegas

simon-cowell-wire.jpgLook out Sin City! Prickly "American Idol" judge Simon Cowell wants to make Las Vegas the setting for the U.S. version of popular British show "The X Factor."

Sir Philip Green, the billionaire partnering with Cowell on "X Factor," tells the New York Post, "Vegas is tailor-made for this show. To sing in Vegas? I mean, hell, you get to the final 12 [and tell them] 'Your dream's come true -- you're going to sing in Vegas!'"

So let's see if we've got this right... a show that will feature singers where the ultimate prize is performing in Las Vegas, helmed by someone with the name and cache to bring in big names to judge and mentor?

Watch out "America's Got Talent," "The X Factor" is coming for you. Let's be honest, "America's Got Talent" is practically a singing competition anyway, so how will "The X Factor" be any different? Maybe now that we'll have a U.S. version of "The X Factor," "America's Got Talent" could ban singing acts. It would certainly save us a lot of pain, not having to listen to someone like Kevin Skinner butcher country songs every week.
