'American Idol' Lee DeWyze sang in the paint shop 'all the time'

lee-dewyze-regis-kelly.jpgLee DeWyze is finding out how busy the life of an "American Idol" winner is. He jetted from an appearance at Walt Disney World in Orlando to a stop at "Live with Regis and Kelly" in NYC.

Lee tells Regis and Kelly what he was feeling when he won -- "You put so much work and time into the whole thing and Crystal's so amazing ... then he says your name and everything goes blank."

Regis asks Lee if he would sing in the paint store in Mt. Prospect and we think Regis is just joking, but Lee says, "All the time. I'd show up in the mornings and I'd start belting things out in the back ... I'd have my guitar in the back. Always."

Lee then takes the stage for an acoustic performance of his first single, "Beautiful Day." Check it out below. We like it even better than the full band version from the show -- it sounds much more "Lee" to us.
