According to FOX News, the Obamas taped a video message for the "American Idol" charity event that airs in less than two weeks.

To date, the charity event (held in both 2007 and 2008) has raised over $140 million. This year the money will benefit Children's Health Fund, Feeding America, Malaria No More, Save the Children's U.S. programs and the United Nations Foundation.

In other "Idol Gives Back" news, Elliott Yamin and Kara DioGuardi recently traveled to Angola and met a woman who started a school for displaced children. Ryan Seacrest has also met with Bill and Melinda Gates about a donation and various celebrities have been dropping by the live "Idol" shows in the past few weeks to record their "Idol Gives Back" PSAs.

The two-hour event airs Wednesday, April 21 at 8 p.m. ET.
