'American Idol' Season 10: Simon Cowell isn't watching
Talking to reporters on a conference call for his new music competition series, "The X Factor," Cowell says, "I haven't seen a full episode. I've seen three minutes of a recap. From what I've seen and from what I've heard, it all seems to be going well."
While Cowell isn't interested in watching the new judges and talent, he was curious to see how the show would do in the ratings. "What I was more concerned about [was] the ratings falling off a cliff, and that the whole genre might be over," Cowell explains. "But people are still excited about these shows, whether "Dancing With the Stars," which has gotten better over the years, "America's Got Talent" ... I think they've done a good job."
While the FOX juggernaut has gone through some pretty massive changes, ratings for "Idol" have stayed pretty even with Cowell's last season on the show. We're thinking it might have something to do with the unpredictable nature of new judge Steven Tyler and his insanely quotable one-liners.
