At some point, "American Idol" Season 13 needs to get its panel of judges set. Only Season 12 judge Keith Urban is officially on the show, and even the oft-rumored Jennifer Lopez remains unconfirmed. If nothing else, the delay in official choices means that many names have been rumored as possibilities.

These names include Kanye West, Sean "Diddy" Combs, Scooter Braun and Dr. Luke. Until there is confirmation about anyone on "Idol" next season, rumors are all we get.

Kanye West isn't likely at all, although he reportedly was requested by "American Idol." The rapper decided against taking a spot on the judges' panel because he felt it would hurt his reputation, according to Us Weekly. Considering the pop-music focus of "Idol," he was probably correct in this decision.

Scooter Braun is a new name on the top of the "Idol" judge list. The manager of Justin Bieber, Carly Rae Jepsen and more is reported (by TMZ and other sources) as a top pick of "American Idol" producers. The thinking behind this choice is that fans want a judge who can find another breakout talent like Kelly Clarkson.

Since Jepsen actually was a contestant on "Canadian Idol," it's likely that Braun knows what to look for. Sources close to Scooter Braun, however, have indicated that he's not particularly interested -- he'd rather focus on his career and stay under the radar.

As for Sean Combs, the rumors indicate that he had been interested but decided against "American Idol" when his ex, Jennifer Lopez, became a front-runner for the job. Us Weekly reported on Wednesday (Aug. 21) that insiders close to Diddy blamed the decision almost entirely on his past with Lopez and her manager.

Dr. Luke, a producer not widely known to those outside the music business, is reportedly a possibility. On Tuesday (Aug. 20), Deadline.com named him as a top possibility to join the Season 13 panel. His production credits include Kelly Clarkson's "Since U Been Gone," Flo Rida's "Right Round," and a whole host of Katy Perry hits ("I Kissed a Girl," "Hot n Cold" and "Teenage Dream" among them).
