amir-vahedi-200.jpgPoker site The Playr and professional poker player Mark Seif are both saying that fellow professional poker player Amir Vahedi has passed away due to complications from blood sugar levels.

Vahedi was known as being a fairly aggressive poker player and was quoted as saying, "If you want to live, you can't be afraid to die" in regards to his poker-playing style.

A sixth place finish in 2003 was the farthest Vahedi got in the main event at the World Series of Poker, but he did take home a WSOP bracelet for winning a separate no-limit Texas Hold 'Em tournament that same year.

Vahedi also won the third season of "Ultimate Poker Challenge." To date, he has earned over $3 million playing poker professionally and was reportedly the poker tutor of actor Ben Affleck.
