"Amish Mafia" star Alan Beiler has landed himself behind bars. The 35-year-old was sentenced from three to 23 months in prison after leading police on a high-speed chase during the summer of 2012.

According to police in Perry County, Penn., he drove against traffic during the pursuit. One of the state troopers involved in the chase crashed his vehicle, suffering a concussion, the Washington Post reports. Beiler plead guilt to charges of attempting to elude police, drug possession and driving on a suspended license in May.

Beiler's attorney says his client has been drug free for a year and is working on turning his life around. The chase began when police attempted to pull him over for an expired car registration.

The second season of "Amish Mafia" is set to debut on the Discovery Channel on August 13
