'Anger Management': Selma Blair out after Charlie Sheen dispute

selma-blair-charlie-sheen-anger-management.jpgIt turns out that Charlie Sheen's clout on the set of FX's "Anger Management" isn't anything to mess with. After finding herself at odds with the wild leading man, Selma Blair is parting ways with the series.

Lionsgate, who produces the show, confirms Blair's departure with Zap2It, saying, "We are confirming that Selma Blair will not be returning to Anger Management and we wish her the very best."

Trouble between co-stars was first reported by TMZ, with word that Blair complained to the show's producers about Sheen's work habits, bothered by his frequent tardiness and lack of effort when he was there. It appears Sheen was made aware of Blair's complaints and lost it, going so far as to claiming to have "fired" her.

He wasn't lying, it would seem.

"Anger Management" is in the midst of filming 90 episodes after its initial 10-episode run in 2012 triggered the monstrous pickup. So far, only 34 episodes have made it to air. How Blair's character, therapist Dr. Kate Wales, will be written out remains to be seen.

Deadline is reporting that Sheen "fired" Blair via text message, which included some very unfriendly language. While Blair was the one to voice her concerns, the site is reporting others are frustrated with Sheen's work habits.

The series has also reportedly sent out a notice regarding a new female regular, though Blair's specific part is not expected to be recast.
