Angry Birds coming soon to a playground near you

angry-birds.jpg"Angry Birds" -- touted as one of the world's most popular computer games of all time -- is making the leap from the virtual world to the real world. But will kids go for the game when it involves actual physical activity?

Two Finnish towns, reports the Chicago Tribune, will be the first to get playgrounds with equipment inspired by the game's characters and that's apparently only the first step since the game's developer, Rovio, signed a deal with playground equipment maker Lappset.

The "Angry Birds"-inspired playgrounds will feature animal spring riders, swings, sandpits, climbing towers with slides and "a unique Angry Birds arcade game." It wasn't clear whether or not the new play spaces will provide actual pigs and slingshots with which to shoot them. We're guessing not.

What do you think -- will "Angry Birds" be a crossover playground hit?
