Anne Rice's 'Tale of the Body Thief' in development -- Lestat is back!

anne_rice_tale_of_the_body_thief.jpgWe could soon be seeing the vampire Lestat on the big screen again. Anne Rice's novel "The Tale of the Body Thief" has been optioned by Imagine Entertainment, according to THR. "Body Thief" is the fourth book in Rice's best-selling series, "The Vampire Chronicles." The producers on the film will be Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci

Tom Cruise was the first to play Lestat in 1994's "Interview With a Vampire." In 2002 Stuart Townsend played the sultry bloodsucker in "The Queen of the Damned." So, let the speculating begin. Who would you like to see play the role of Lestat this time around?

If you're not familiar with the book, Lestat is depressed (emo vampires are all the rage these days) and he's lonely after centuries of being on his own. He decides to trade souls wit a psychic for a day. The psychic decides not to give his body back. Lestat must hunt down the body with the help of his friends.
