Ashton Kutcher 'home invasion' 911 call actually a prank

"Swatting" is where someone falsely reports a serious crime to 911, and in this case, police say they were notified via a teletext message -- as if coming from a deaf person.

Three workers were inside Kutcher's home when law enforcement arrived, but they were working on the house and are not suspects in the prank. Police believe that whoever sent the teletext must have been scoping out the place because he or she knew three people were inside.

Kutcher wasn't home at the time, though TMZ reports that he did arrive while police were there. The actor later tweeted that he's "safe and sound" back on the set of "Two and a Half Men."
