Ben Affleck won't direct a 'Justice League' movie, but the Wachowskis might

The Oscar winner pretty much flatly denied he's involved with the superhero project, which is still a long ways from getting off the ground. "I'm not working on the 'Justice League,'" he tells Canadian news outlet 24 Hours. "One of the problems with entertainment web sites is that they need to fill pages, and that's how rumors get started."

He does allow that the project sounds "really exciting," though, so there's that.

Meanwhile, Moviehole is reporting that among the short list of directors the studio would like to helm the project is Lana and Andy Wachowski of "The Matrix" fame. The site says Warner Bros. is impressed with their work on "Cloud Atlas," which they co-directed with Tom Tykwer and which hits theaters in October.

Will Beall ("Castle," "Gangster Squad") is writing the "Justice League" script, but so far he's the only person formally attached to the project.
