'Ben and Kate' casts Lindsay Sloane; Morgan Spurlock joins Anthony Bourdain on CNN

- FOX's new series "Ben and Kate" has found a woman for the male half ( Nat Faxon) of the titular brother-sister duo. Comedy veteran Lindsay Sloane, late of "Weeds" and "Horrible Bosses," will appear in several episodes as an ex-girlfriend of Ben's who comes back into his life. [ TVLine]

- Morgan Spurlock will bring his documentary camera to CNN starting in April 2013 for a weekend series called "Inside Man" that will explore "rarely seen segments of American life," from gun enthusiasts to migrant workers. The show will be a companion to Anthony Bourdain's recently announced show for the news network. [ CNN]

- The new NBC comedy "Go On" has lined up a couple of sports-world cameos to lend authenticity to Matthew Perry's on-screen job as a radio host. NBC sportscaster Bob Costas will play himself in an episode, and former NHL star Jeremy Roenick will also drop by. [ EW/ @MatthewPerry]

- Chloe Sevigny is moving to "Portlandia." The ex-"Big Love" star will play Carrie (Carrie Brownstein) and Fred's (Fred Armisen) new roommate when the show returns to IFC in January. [ IFC]

- Spike TV will air a special honoring Eddie Murphy and his comic legacy in November. "Eddie Murphy: One Night Only" will feature tributes from friends and co-stars, comedy sketches and an appearance by Murphy himself. It's scheduled to air Nov. 16. [ Spike]

- Former "All My Children" star Brittany Allen has joined Syfy's upcoming series "Defiance" in a recurring role. She'll play a "troubled" employee of Mia Kirshner's character in the series, which is set on a future Earth inhabited by both humans and aliens. [ Syfy]
