'Beverly Hills, 90210' stars stage TV return; HBO's 'Treme' gets premiere date

In Thursday's (Feb. 10) snacks, Zap2it brings you news of a couple of original "90210-ers" returning to American TV, an Oprah Winfrey alum talk show crossover and one of the most-anticipated news series on HBO gets a premiere date!

In our first "Beverly Hills 90210" snack, fans of the pre-CW era will be thrilled to hear that Gabrielle Carteris, now 50-years-old, is returning to TV in NBC's "The Event." She'll play a recurring role as alien Diane Geller debuting on the March 14 episode. [ TVGuide.com]

Carteris' former costar and TV crush, Jason Priestley will be coming back to American television as DirecTV announces it will air his Canadian show, "Call Me Fitz," on the 101 Network. Priestly plays the title character, who struggles with his conscience (who happens to be named Larry). It premieres April 21 at 9 p.m. ET.  [ DirecTV]

"Law & Order: Criminal Intent" has cast "Revolutionary Road's" Jay Sanders to play the new captain of the Major Case Squad. He'll appear in all eight episodes of the show's upcoming final season. [ TVLine.com]

Oprah interior designer and talk show host Nate Berkus will be crossing over when he surprises Dr. Mehmet Oz on "The Dr. Oz Show's" episode, "Dr. Oz's Surprise Party" airing on Valentine's Day, Monday, Feb. 14. This is the first time Dr. Oz has seen Nate after giving him medical advice for his emergency appendectomy in November. [ "The Dr. Oz Show"]

Tia and Tamera Mowry have signed on to a new reality series "Tia & Tamera Take 2," which is a follow-up to its 2010 special. The show is set to premiere this summer. [ Style Network]
