Beyonce and Jay-Z song 'Part II (On the Run)' leaks after 'Magna Carta Holy Grail' drops

As the reigning royalty of the music industry, Beyonce and Jay-Z have certainly been making the headlines quite a lot lately -- as separate names. But as HOV's "Magna Carta Holy Grail" dropped as a digital download on Thursday (July 4), a collaboration with his ladylove also leaked early.

"Part II (On the Run)" is a slowed-down, sultry song about their unconventional relationship. Beyonce croons, "Who wants that perfect love story anyway anyway / Cliché cliché cliché" over and over while Jay-Z raps about their "outlaw" love and matching tattoos.

While the subject matter gives us a deeper look into the star couple's romance, the song itself lacks any pizzazz worthy of the talent Bey and Jay possess. Haven't we heard better than this snooze-fest? "Crazy in Love," anyone?

"Magna Carta Holy Grail," Jay-Z's twelfth studio album, is expected to debut with platinum status after the Recording Industry Association of America announced a rule change that would begin counting digital sales toward gold and platinum certification.
