'Big Brother 15': Spencer Clawson's mom says son is not a bigot or a racist

spencer-clawson-big-brother-15.jpgSpencer Clawson is one of several "Big Brother" houseguests taking heat outside the house for making off-colors comments about their fellow contestants.

Highlights from this 31-year-old railroad conductor include calling Korean contestant Helen "Kim Jong Un," calling gay contestant Andy "Kermit the f**" and referring to women as "c***s" all the time (seriously, it's like his go-to word for women).

His mom, Donna Clawson, tells TMZ that Spencer's just going along with the house.

"If you're in a group, you go along with the group talk and that is what is happening with him. This is a reality show. The purpose of the show is scheming behind each other's backs. Spencer might not be perfect, but he's my son. All those kids are somebody's child. He's a good guy," says Donna.

"This is not a guy that's a bigot or a racist. And he's not that way at home. He's a great guy," she adds.

To that we say -- first of all, plenty of people are doing just fine in the house without using racist, gay or misogynistic slurs.

Secondly, using said slurs has nothing to do with scheming.

Thirdly, yes, Spencer is somebody's child. But so are the people he's disparaging. They're somebody's kid, too.

Finally, why is anyone only ever focusing on the racist/homophobic remarks, particularly in Spencer's case? Does it not bother anyone that he can barely speak about a female contestant without calling her the c-word?
