'Biggest Loser's' Antone Davis talks NFL week on the show

antone-davis-biggest-loser.jpg"The Biggest Loser" is kicking off NFL week Tuesday night (Oct. 4), as the show welcomes such NFL greats as Drew Brees, Clay Matthews, Shawn Merriman (pictured above, right) , Eric Dickerson, Tony Gonzalez and Tim Tebow to help the contestants in various challenges.

Zap2it spoke with contestant Antone Davis, who is himself a former NFL player, about the experience of working with the athletes.

"When I look at those guys coming out to visit us, I used to be one of those guys. And to have let my weight slip up and up and up, it's embarrassing to stand next to those guys and say hey, I was an NFL player also, but I don't look like one today," Davis confides.

We were curious if any of the players knew him, which Davis says they did not. But he did have a special connection with one of them.

"I did actually play with Clay Matthews Jr.'s dad in Atlanta and I reminded Clay of that, but I don't think they knew I was going to be there or if I played," says Davis.

As for the season so far, Davis is struck by how eye-opening the experience was.

"The first couple weeks you really find out a lot about yourself," says Davis. "You find out about your mental and physical limits. One of the things Bob wanted to do with me is realize early on how we got to this point ... the first couple of weeks has been very eye-opening - acknowledging where you are and figuring out how you got there."
