Zap2it : You've hardly had any screen time with Tom Selleck on "Blue Bloods," but how do you find him?
Marisa Ramirez : I don't even really get to be there when he's filming anything. I'll usually be in hair and makeup when he's doing that, so it's not like I've gone onto the set and watched him, but he has been very sweet to me ... and warm and kind and generous and supportive. That's helped, especially being a newcomer.
Zap2it: Do you think your character, Maria, ever will be a guest at the weekly Reagan family dinner?
Marisa Ramirez : I don't know! Maybe not as a guest. Maybe she'll drop off some doughnuts or something. Or maybe she'll knock on the door by accident, see what's going on and say, "Hey, I'm kinda hungry. Can I sit?" It would be nice to be invited, but I'm OK to just stay on the work front.
Zap2it : "General Hospital" and "The Young and the Restless" also are among your credits. How do you reflect on that part of your career now?
Marisa Ramirez: Coming from daytime and now being in prime time, it's funny how I'll have days where I have one line in a scene, and it just drives me crazy. It'll take two or three hours to shoot a scene, and I just say my one line over and over again.
If it had been on a soap, in three hours, we would have shot maybe 10 scenes. It definitely was a great training ground, and it made me fall in love with the whole aspect of memorizing and finding different things about my character in a hurry.
