There is still a lot to come in "Bones" Season 9. Thanks to executive producer Stephen Nathan, we now know a lot of what can be expected. Christopher Pelant will return (even though he's dead). The team will have to face the Ghost Killer, a new foe. Hodgins will find out about his family. A squintern will find romance.

Freddie Prinze Jr. is even coming back!

Keep reading for details on these "Bones" spoilers.

Pelant is back? Really?

It's hard to kill a super villain on TV. Even though the audience saw Christopher Pelant ( Andrew Leeds) die on-camera, finally ending the tech genius' murderous reign of terror, he will still be back, according to a report from TVLine.

How does that work? Nathan stayed cryptic on that front. "He'll be back in the flesh, but somewhat ethereal in the show," the "Bones" producer said.

Is this a ghost? A computer-generated hologram? A dream?

The Ghost Killer

Now that Pelant is (presumably) done murdering people, the Big Bad mantle passes on to the creepily named Ghost Killer. This would be the person responsible for seemingly unrelated cold-case murders. He or she is probably not an actual ghost though.

But Brennan is still going to be a bit obsessed.

"Brennan is the type of person who is not going to forget the words of warning that were given to her by Pelant," Nathan said, referencing the former serial killer's hints that an unidentified murderer was on the loose. "They're all going to have to contend with seeing how immersed and overwhelmed Brennan is by the idea of this new serial killer."

Hodgins gets blasts from the past

Hodgins is going to feature prominently in at least a couple of upcoming episodes in Season 9. In one, the scientist will be finding out some surprising secrets about his own family. "It's not going to be grand political secrets or anything like that. It's going to be very, very personal," Nathan said in a conference call with reporters.

Since Hodgins was once quite close with his relatives (all of whom are gone now), this may be a bit of a blow.

In a separate story, Hodgins will head out into the field when a family that he used to know gets involved in a murder investigation. "He's going into a world of wealth that he no longer enjoys," according to Nathan.

Danny the Spy is coming back!

Freddie Prinze Jr. will return to "Bones" in 2014 in the role of Danny, Booth's old friend and a CIA agent. "It will be an episode that kind of teams Booth and Danny in a common cause," Nathan explained. "But it also causes Booth to question Danny."

If you're not questioning the motives of a CIA agent, you're doing it wrong, so this is probably OK.

Jury duty

On Friday (Nov. 15), "Bones" will move to a new timeslot for the first time. In the episode, Brennan finds herself trapped into jury duty. The result yields much humor for the audience and problems for the court case.

"Brennan, being supremely rational and logical, follows the judges' instructions to the letter of the law," teased Nathan. Still, this may not be the best thing for the trial. "She is only dealing with the evidence, and that gets us into a lot of trouble," the producer added. "It's pretty funny having her on a jury ... Somebody asks a question in court, she answers."

Love and other emotions for the squinterns

The long-suffering squinterns will be getting a few rewards this season. An upcoming episode will put Wendell into an "emotional" and possibly quite tough situation. Fisher, meanwhile, may just manage to hook up with someone -- and that could be "someone we know."

"Bones" will air on FOX Fridays at 8 p.m. starting on Nov. 15.
