Boston manhunt for Dzhokar Tsarnaev live coverage: ABC preempts 'Happy Endings,' 'Shark Tank'

dzokhar-tsarnaev-boston-marathon-bombing-suspect.jpgABC will preempt its primetime programming on Friday, April 19, in favor of covering the Boston manhunt. Instead of the expected lineup, which included two episodes of "Happy Endings" and "Shark Tank," the network will air several news specials.

An expanded one-hour edition of "ABC World News," will be anchored by Diane Sawyer, followed by "20/20" with Elizabeth Vargas anchoring from Boston. Finally, "Nightline" will give late-night viewers a recap of the days events live from Boston with Juju Chang reporting.

ABC News has been covering the search for Dzhokar Tsarnaev (and the death of his brother Tamerlan Tsarnaev) since 3:30 a.m. EST on Friday. Their coverage has included several conversations with the father of the men, including his message to Dzhokar: "Give up. Give up. You have a bright future ahead of you. Come home to Russia," and his warning: "If they killed him, then all hell would break loose." They also spoke with Sierra Schwartz and Steven Owens, former classmates of the suspect.

ABC is currently running live online streaming coverage as well.
