Box Office: 'Act of Valor' outguns Tyler Perry, Jennifer Aniston

act-of-valor-box-office.jpg"Act of Valor," a movie that stars actual Navy SEALs in a fictional covert mission to recover a kidnapped CIA agent, utterly crushed the competition to win the weekend box office, according to Box Office Mojo. The movie, made for $18 million, took in an estimated $24.7 million in tickets sales in its first weekend in theaters.

"Tyler Perry's Good Deeds," the runner-up, raked in a still respectable $16 million. Jennifer Aniston's "Wanderlust" topped out at just $6.6 million while "Gone," Amanda Seyfried's thriller, made just $5 million.

Meaning that, yes, Nicolas Cage's "Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance" -- with $8.8 million in ticket sales -- did better than Aniston and Seyfried. Ouch.
