Box Office: 'Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Rodrick Rules' knocks out 'Sucker Punch'

diary-of-a-wimpy-kid-rodrick-rules.jpgDespite "Sucker Punch" taking in more money Friday, "Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Rodrick Rules" has knocked out the warrior girl-power flick and taken the weekend box office crown. The "Wimpy Kid" sequel earned $24.4 million, according to studio estimates, besting the original "Wimpy Kid's" opening weekend by $2.3 million.

Action movie "Sucker Punch" was second with $19 million. Last weekend's top movie "Limitless," starring Bradley Cooper, was third at $15.2 million and Matthew McConaughey's "The Lincoln Lawyer" was fourth at $11 million.

Two movies brought their domestic box office totals to the $100 million mark - Johnny Depp's animated movie "Rango" and the Adam Sandler-Jennifer Aniston rom-com "Just Go With It" brought their totals to $106.4 and $100.2 million, respectively.
