Box Office Friday: 'Toy Story 3' beats 'Grown Ups' and Tom Cruise

toy-story-3-320.jpgNever underestimate the power of Pixar. After last weekend's incredible debut, "Toy Story 3" is on track for another win this weekend, collecting an estimated $18 million on Friday night alone. Not far behind is Adam Sandler's latest funny fare, "Grown Ups," with $14 million.

This puts "Grown Ups" on track for a cool  $40 million weekend. Though this won't compare to "Toy Story 3's" possible $60 million, it's comparable to Sandler's previous hits "Click" and "Don't Mess With the Zohan," which were both box office successes.

Rounding out the top three spots was Tom Cruise and Cameron Diaz's action flick "Knight and Day," which isn't proving to be the blockbuster blow-out that Cruise has delivered in the past. It grossed about $6 million on Friday night, which is an improvement over its Wednesday debut, a rather weak $3.8 million.

"The Karate Kid" and "The A-Team" are expected to round out the Top 5 for the weekend.
