Box Office: Hugh Jackman's 'Real Steel' tops Friday with $8.55 million

real-steel-robots.jpgThe Hugh Jackman- Evangeline Lilly robot boxing movie "Real Steel" led the Friday box office with $8.55 million in earnings, which puts it on pace for a $25 million opening weekend. According to The Wrap, that number is in line with pre-release estimates, though the studio was hoping the film would perhaps top $30 million.

"The Ides of March," George Clooney's fourth directorial effort, was second with a $3.45 million opening, putting it on pace for a $10-$11 million opening weekend, which is a bit softer than Sony was expecting.
