"Never" opened at $12.4 million, while "Just Go" took in $9.7 million. Both movies are on pace to earn more than $30 million for their opening weekend.

To contrast Bieber with the Miley Cyrus "Hannah Montana" movie of 2008, the Hollywood Reporter says Miley's movie opened with $8.7 million on its first Friday on the way to a $31.1 million weekend take.

Animated movie "Gnomeo & Juliet" took third with $6.1 million, Channing Tatum's epic "The Eagle" earned $2.8 million and coming in fifth was the only holdover movie in the top 5, "The Roommate" at $2.6 million, putting its total gross at $20.3 so far.
