Bruno Mars named 2013 Billboard Artist of the Year: Rock out to his best performances

bruno-mars-super-bowl-xlvii.jpgIt's been the year of Bruno Mars: it's pretty much impossible to have turned on a pop radio station in 2013 and not hear one of the retro-soul singer's infectious tunes, so it's not surprising that Billboard magazine has named him the 2013 Billboard Artist of the Year.

Mars' No. 1 album "Unorthodox Jukebox" enjoyed an impressive 10-month run on the Billboard 200 chart, spawned three top 10 singles -- "Locked Out of Heaven," "When I Was Your Man," "Treasure" -- and the sexy new jam "Gorilla."

You also saw him at practically every award show this year, either winning accolades, performing, or both. He took home one MTV EMA, two VMAs and two Teen Choice Awards, among others. In honor of Mars' new title, here is a roundup of some of his most memorable performances from the aforementioned award shows. (Bonus: they're all delightfully upbeat and perfectly appropriate to watch while you get ready to go out this Saturday night.)
