Bryan Fuller teases his 'Pushing Daisies' zombie movie idea
Bryan Fuller might not have funding for a "Pushing Daisies" movie yet, but he does have an idea for it. According to him, the prospective film would involve Lee Pace's character Ned having to fight off a cemetery's worth of zombies.
"If we were able to pull off the Kickstarter, there's a very fun zombie film that starts with a flash-flood in a cemetery and basically is about those denizens of that cemetery having to kill Ned before he can kill them, so it's a different kind of zombie movie," he tells Den of Geek. As for whether or not these would be fast or slow zombies, Fuller says, "I think fast, I think because it's the 'Pushing Daisies' rules so Chuck is, you know, alive."
Fuller first opened up about the idea of a "Pushing Daisies" zombie movie during an interview with IndieWire. "I would like to revisit that world and I think that there is a great zombie movie to be had in the world of 'Pushing Daisies,'" he said at the time.
Zombies are all the rage right now, so it wouldn't be that much of a stretch for audiences to get behind this idea. "Pushing Daisies" already plays around with the concepts of life and death in a fun and unique way, which means that Fuller's take on zombies would likely be similarly different from what people are expecting. Though Fuller has talked at length about making a "Pushing Daisies" Kickstarter, he has not launched one yet. "Pushing Daisies" ran on ABC from 2007 to 2009. It starred Pace, Anna Friel, Chenoweth and Chi McBride.
