Carson Daly: The Times Square ball drop is 'about bringing that excitement right into your living room'

carson-daly-getty.jpg Carson Daly is back again host his annual New Year's Eve celebration live from Times Square. He tells Zap2it's Jay Bobbin there's no place he'd rather be for New Year's Eve.

"When I got to NBC, I told them that I was just used to working that night and that I wanted to get into the game there by creating and producing a special that was more about Times Square than what ABC was doing ... We've just had great success with it, and it's become a really nice piece of event television for the network and for me."

"New Year's Eve is a great time to be connected and to tell your own story," Daly continues. "And by the time we get to the ball drop in Times Square, it's all about bringing that excitement right into your living room."

"For 13 out of the past 14 years, I've been in New York in Times Square, watching the ball drop. And selfishly, there's no place I'd rather be," Daly finishes.

Will you be watching NBC's "New Year's Eve with Carson Daly"? Or are you more of a "Dick Clark's Rockin' Eve with Ryan Seacrest" kind of person?
