Casey Affleck filming Joaquin Phoenix's Vegas gig tonight

Image003 Casey Affleck and Joaquin Phoenix are keeping it all in the family.

According to the Hollywood Reporter, Casey is directing a documentary about Joaquin Phoenix's transition from actor to musician.

Phoenix is also Casey's brother-in-law (Casey is married to Summer Phoenix).

Joaquin Phoenix announced his retirement from acting late last year and explained that he was going to focus on his music career. He also wrote the words "Good" and "Bye" on his knuckles at the premiere of his latest film, "Two Lovers."

Phoenix is reportedly embarking on a new path as a rapper, with an album that may be produced by Sean "Diddy" Combs.

He is scheduled to make his first public performance tonight at a Las Vegas club, Lavo, which will officially kick off Affleck's doc shoot.

Arrivals start at 9 tonight. For more information, call (702) 791-1818 or e-mail info@lavolv.com.

Affleck starred in his brother Ben Affleck's first theatrical feature, "Gone Baby Gone," and in "The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford" with Brad Pitt. He has also appeared in "Ocean's Eleven" series.

He directed a series of shorts for Sundance Channel in the late 1990s.

I dunno. This looks more like a supper club singer's promo, not a rapper's.

This should be really interesting or really weird or both.
