Casting Call: Kristen Wiig toplines comedy, Jeffrey Dean Morgan enters 'Fields'

kristen-wiig-320.jpgKristen Wiig will reteam with her "Knocked Up" director Judd Apatow and "Unaccompanied Minors" helmer Paul Feig.

The two directors are also reuniting with each other -- having worked together on the short-lived series "Freaks and Geeks" -- to produce Wiig's untitled comedy project, reports Variety.

The "Saturday Night Live" player will star in the film about women vying to plan a mutual friend's wedding party.

Wiig's other upcoming films include "Date Night" and "MacGruber," based on the "SNL" skit of the same name.

In other movie casting news:

- "Watchmen's" Jeffery Dean Morgan is teaming up with "Avatar's" Sam Worthington in the murder mystery "The Fields." Morgan will play a New York detective who moves to Texas and teams up with a local homicide detective (Worthington) to solve a series of murders in the Texas bayous.

Morgan's upcoming films include "the Losers," "The Resident" opposite Hilary Swank and the remake of "Red Dawn."

 - Amanda Bynes has obtained a "Hall Pass" to comedy. The former child star has joined the Owen Wilson, Jenna Fischer and Jason Sudeikis in the Farrelly brothers' comedy about two married couples who decide their marriages need a "hall pass" for extramarital affairs. It's not clear what role Bynes will play. Wilson and Fischer play one couple.

Bynes will begin filming in Atlanta by the end of February. Her other film credits includ "Hairspray" and "She's the Man."
