CBS picks up another 'Big Brother'

juliechen_bigbrother_290.jpgImproved ratings for the current season of "Big Brother" has resulted in CBS picking up the show for another year.

The network announced Tuesday (Sept. 9) that it's ordering a 12th season of the series, which has shown some new life this summer after a couple seasons of ratings declines. "Big Brother 11" is averaging 7.1 million viewers this year, up from 6.6 million last summer and has also posted better numbers in both adults 18-49 and adults 18-34.

"Big Brother" has also been big online. The network says it's the most-watched show on CBS.com and its affiliated sites, drawing 25 percent more users than last year.

The current "Big Brother" is down to its final three contestants (Jordan, Natalie and Kevin) and will conclude Tuesday, Sept. 15 with a two-hour finale. The 12th season will begin next summer.
