If things were to work out as planned, Dr. Drew Pinsky would have returned from his romantic second honeymoon with his wife of 20 years just in time to shoot the "Celebrity Rehab" reunion special on Wednesday (Jan. 19).

Things didn't go as planned. While on the honeymoon Dr. Drew came down with a bacterial infection. And we've learned from a source close to the production and a Vh1 rep confirms to Zap2it exclusively that they've had to cancel tomorrow's shooting of the reunion special.

"Spent the night as a patient in the hospital," he tweets. "Seems I may have picked up Leptospirosis in the West Indies. This is just brutal."

Poor Dr. Drew. He's trading one brutal experience for another. The Vh1 rep tells us that the taping will be rescheduled for another date pending Dr. Drew's recovery. Currently, the special is slated to air on Jan. 26, but no word on whether that will need to be pushed back.

As of the posting of this article, Dr. Drew's publicist has not returned our request for a status on his condition and when doctors say he'll recover.

Get well soon, Dr. Drew!
