Charlie Sheen to play the president in 'Machete' sequel from Robert Rodriguez

Sheen will take a page out of his father's book when he suits up as the commander in chief in Robert Rodriguez's newest movie, "Machete Kills," a sequel to the director's 2010 hit "Machete." Sheen's dad, Martin Sheen, famously played the president on "The West Wing" from 1999 to 2006.

Rodriguez announced the news on Twitter, writing, "I just cast Charlie Sheen in ‪#machetekills‬ as the President of the United States! Who better?" and posting a photo of the pair together.

Sheen has already started to get in character, responding to Rodriguez's tweet with a well-played "My Fellow Americans!"

"Machete Kills" also stars Amber Heard, Michelle Rodriguez and Mel Gibson.
