Chris Daughtry's 'Home' sparks suit by former bandmates

home-chris-daughtry-lyrics"American Idol" alum Chris Daughtry is the target of a lawsuit from three members of a former band who claim they are owed royalties from the Daughtry hit "Home" and three other songs.

Ryan Andrews, Scott Crawford and Mark Perry -- who once performed in the band Absent Element with Chris -- allege that the singer started writing the lyrics to "Home" while a member of the band and that they performed another song, "Breakdown." According to USA Today, they're making similar claims about the songs "Conviction" and Sinking."

On Friday (April 6), Chris himself posted a reply to the allegations on his official website, writing:

"I am very hurt by these false accusations. The songs listed in this lawsuit were written solely by me and no one else and at this time, I have no further comment."
