Chris Matthews on Obama: 'I forgot he was black'

The State of the Union address by President Obama on Wednesday night (Jan. 27) was received with a broad mix of reactions, but MSNBC's Chris Matthews probably made the comment that will be replayed the most.

"You know, I forgot he was black tonight for an hour," said Matthews.

Um, what?

It's all the context, of course. Matthews says that Obama has become a "post-racial" president. So the word choice could have been better.
