Chris Pine talks 'Star Trek' sequel, Denzel and more

Chrispine_290 "Star Trek's" new Captain Kirk dished on the next voyage of the Enterprise, plus working with Denzel Washington and more.

Chris Pine, star of the "Trek" reboot, talked to the Los Angeles Times' Dish Rag at a Hollywood Foreign Press Association luncheon about his upcoming projects. We already knew "Star Trek 2" was in the works, but Pine gives us a time frame -- they're hoping for a 2011 release date -- and a hint that the entire cast will return.

Pine also says he's thrilled to be working with Denzel on the on-again, off-again train-based thriller "Unstoppable." He almost didn't get the chance: Budget problems scuttled the film, and then led to Washington walking away from it. Luckily for the new cap'n, all has been resolved.

Finally, we'll see Pine alongside Piper Perabo for "Carriers," which follows four survivors of a world-ending viral pandemic.
