Christian Bale to play Batman in 'Justice League'? He sets the record straight

Everyone, stop asking Christian Bale if he's going to play Batman in the "Justice League" movie. Seriously, stop. It's not going to happen.

The actor recently set the record straight for Entertainment Weekly again after he, Christopher Nolan and screenwriter David Goyer all have repeatedly said the "Justice League" Batman will be a rebooted character. Because why stick to the character that's made billions in the box office when you can recreate a franchise, right?

For what it's worth, neither Bale nor Nolan seem to have any interest in returning to Batman's story after completing it in 2012's' "The Dark Knight Rises." "We were incredibly fortunate to get to make three [Batman films]. That's enough. Let's not get greedy," he tells EW. "Chris [Nolan] always said he wanted to make it one film at a time. And we ended up sitting there looking at each other, saying 'We're about to make the third.' We never really knew if we were going to get to be there, but if that was how it was going to be, this was where it should end as well."

Apparently no one high up at Warner Bros. has even bothered talking about "Justice League" possibilities with him. "I have no information, no knowledge about anything. I've literally not had a conversation with a living soul," Bale says. "I understand that they may be making a 'Justice League' movie, that's it."

According to reports, "Justice League" will come out in 2015 (though that's seeming less and less likely as no forward momentum is made on it). And in case you still had your doubts about Bale's involvement, he says of Batman, "It's a torch that should be handed from one actor to another. So I enjoy looking forward to what somebody else will come up with."
