'Chuck' snags 'Community's' Danny Pudi for top-secret role

"Chuck" has landed "Community" star Danny Pudi for a guest role in its fifth episode this season, AOL TV reports.

Just what he'll be doing on the show is being kept quiet, but we're going to go ahead and endorse pretty much any kind of interaction between the man who plays Abed and "Chuck" stars Zachary Levi and Joshua Gomez. And Adam Baldwin -- because we'd love to see Casey react to an extra infusion of Chuck-like geekdom.

We're also assuming that Pudi's "Chuck" appearance won't be quite like his silent "Cougar Town" cameo last season, in which he was essentially playing Abed playing an extra on "Cougar Town" (as explained here, starting around the 4-minute mark).

He joins a roster of "Chuck" Season 5 guest stars that includes Mark Hamill (who's playing a villain in the season premiere), Carrie-Anne Moss (recurring as a rival/love interest for Casey), Jeff Fahey and Justin Hartley (brothers and clients of Chuck's new spy firm in episode 2).

"Chuck" premieres Friday, Oct. 21 on NBC. Pudi's appearance will likely air in November.
