'Chuck' star Zachary Levi will 'Let It Go' for FOX

The "Chuck" star, who wrapped filming on that series in December, has picked up his next role in FOX's comedy pilot "Let It Go." Levi took the part after fielding multiple offers in the wake of "Chuck" ending, Deadline reports. His casting lifts a contingency on the pilot and gives it a formal green light.

"Let It Go" will center on a married couple (Levi is playing the husband), the husband's best friend and the wife's sister as they deal with life's small annoyances. DJ Nash ("'Til Death," "Traffic Light") created it and is executive producing with Peter Tolan ("Rescue Me") and Michael Wimer.

Other pilot casting news, also via Deadline:

- Gillian Vigman ("New Girl," "The Hangover") will play John Stamos' wife in another FOX comedy, "Little Brother." Stamos plays a guy who finds out he has a half-brother ( T.J. Miller) who's an ex-con and needs a place to stay now that he's out on parole.

- J.K. Simmons, late of "The Closer," will star with Kyle Bornheimer in ABC's comedy "White Van Man," about a guy (Bornheimer) who reluctantly takes over his father's (Simmons) handyman business.

- "Law & Order" alumna Alana de la Garza is back at NBC in the network's medical drama "Do No Harm," about a neurosurgeon with a "dangerous alter ego" (really). De la Garza will play the lead character's colleague and former fiancee.

- Shawn Ashmore ("X-Men") and Valorie Curry ("Veronica Mars") have joined the cast of FOX's Kevin Williamson drama. Ashmore will play an FBI agent who works with Kevin Bacon's profiler, while Curry will play the nanny for the son of an imprisoned serial killer ( James Purefoy).
