CMT Music Awards: Barack Obama and Mitt Romney to appear in opening sketch

mitt-romney-barack-obama-casual-getty.jpgThey may not agree with much in terms of policy, but President Barack Obama and Mitt Romney do agree on one thing, they'll both be on the 2012 CMT Music Awards on Wednesday (June 6).

The political foes will appear in an opening sketch for the awards show. As for what they're going to joke about, that's being kept under wraps. But presumably it will involve a couple of barbs thrown at each other and maybe even a self-deprecating comment or two.

This isn't the first time the CMT Music Awards has secured high-powered politicians for an appearance. In 2008, they grabbed John McCain, Hillary Clinton and Obama, each as they were trying to secure votes on the way to the White House.

The show, which will air at 8 p.m. ET on CMT, is hosted by Kristen Bell and Toby Keith.
