TBS is quite fond of Conan O'Brien. Nearly a year after debuting his new late night venue, "Conan," the network is pursuing scripted ventures with the comedian.

THR reports O'Brien has sold a half-hour comedy pilot to his current network, with writer/producer Ben Wexler (Still Standing) attached as showrunner.

The multi-camera serial follows a family man who returns to his hometown and reunites with his former best friend after quitting his job -- like "Welcome Back Kotter," you know, if Kotter came back unemployed.

O'Brien's Conaco is producing alongside Warner Horizon. Conaco recently had a pilot in the works at NBC, "Justice," though it didn't move forward
