Conjoined twins Abby and Brittany Hensel to star in TLC reality show: Watch the trailer!

abby-brittany-hensel-tlc.jpgThe world was fascinated by conjoined twins Abby and Brittany Hensel when they first appeared on "The Oprah Winfrey Show" and the cover of Life Magazine back in 1996, when they were just 6 years old.

They've appeared in the media sporadically since then, checking in again 10 years later with a TLC documentary, "Joined For Life: Abby and Brittany Turn 16." Mostly, though, they've lived a normal life in Minnesota with their family.

Now, the conjoined twins have their own reality show, "Abby and Brittany," which will premiere August 28 at 10 p.m. on TLC. It'll chronicle their graduation from Bethel University in Minnesota, their post-grad job search, and their travels through Europe with friends.

The twins share most organs below the navel. They have two hearts with one shared circulatory system, four lungs, two stomachs, etc. While they were born with three arms, one was removed surgically. Abby controls the right side of the body while Brittany controls the left.

While it's rare for twins conjoined the way that Abby and Brittany are to survive into adulthood, they are in good health, without heart defects or organ failure.
