CW's 'Hunger Games'-esque pilot gains cast members; 'Bridesmaids' star signs on with ABC pilot

"Bridesmaids" star Wendi McLendon-Covey has signed on to ABC's "Only Fools and Horses," alongside the already-cast John Leguizamo and Christopher Lloyd. McLendon-Covey became available following Goldie Hawn's sudden exit from "Viagara Diaries," which then released McLendon-Covey. In "Fools," she'll play Leguizamo's ex-wife Ruby, owner of the Lost and Found Lounge. [Deadline]

The CW has added several names to its "Hunger Games"-style pilot "The Selection," which is set in a futuristic world where women are drawn from a lottery to compete to be the queen of a war-torn nation. Australian actress Peta Sergeant has been cast as Gaia Woods, a rebel leader, and Leonor Varela and Martin Donovan have been cast as Queen Amberly and King Clarkson [ Hollywood Reporter]

ABC's soapy "Mistresses," modeled after the British show of the same name, has found two of its four female leads in Rochelle Aytes ("The Forgotten") and newcomer Jes Macallan. Rochelle will play April, a recent widow and mother of two, while Macallan will play Josslyn, a real estate broker and brashly sensual woman. [ Deadline]

FOX's untilted medical drama starring Jordana Spiro as a doctor forced to moonlight for the mob has cast William Fortsythe as Alexander Constantine, the mob boss who is an oddly compassionate killer and perhaps Spiro's estranged father. FOX has also added Jay Harrington to "Guilty," the legal drama starring Cuba Gooding Jr. as an attorney falsely convicted of fraud who is solving crimes on his own and exacting revenge on those who set him up. CBS drama "Elementary" has added Aidan Quinn as the NYPD Captain who previously worked with Sherlock Holmes ( Jonny Lee Miller) and has now brought him on to consult for the department. Lucy Liu is Joan Watson, Sherlock's "sober companion" after his stint in rehab. [ Deadline]

Mercedes Masohn, female lead of Fox's "The Finder," has been cast as a resident of the titular building in "666 Park Avenue." The ABC drama focuses on a young couple (played by Rachael Taylor and Dave Annable) who begin managing a historic apartment building in New York City, only to start experiencing supernatural occurrences. "Terra Nova" star Allison Miller has been cast in NBC's comedy pilot "Go On," which stars Matthew Perry as a sportscaster trying to get on with his life after a loss. Miller will play Perry's quirky assistant. NBC has also added Lauren German to "Chicago Fire" starring "House's" Jesse Spencer. German will play the no-nonsense Kay to whom the team of firefighters report. [ Deadline]
