'Dancing With the Stars' Kirstie Alley on Lady Gaga weight gain: 'No one should have to starve themselves'
"More power to her," the former "Fat Actress" star, now a size 10, told reporters about the Mother Monster's self-declared "Body Revolution" after last night's (Sept. 26) "DWTS" results show. (Alley and her partner, Maksim Chmerkovskiy, were not in jeopardy.)
Alley, now a size 10, said Gaga "is such a role model for millions, bajillions, of girls in the world, and she should be whatever weight she wants to.
"No one should have to starve themselves...What has she gained, 30 pounds? Who cares?"
Yesterday, Gaga, who recently revealed she suffered from bulimia and anorexia since she was a teenager, wrote on her fan website:
"Today I join the BODY REVOLUTION. To Inspire Bravery. My weight/loss/gain since i was child has tormented me...My boyfriend prefers me curvier, when I eat and am healthy and not so worried about my looks, I'm happy. Happier than I've ever been."
"It's good she's saying it," praised Alley.
